  • Govenor or Dictator?

Governors like Walker and McDonnell want to govern by absolute decree.  They do not want to 'negotiate' or 'compromise' (nor does the Republican party nationally it seems by their own words).  Is that not what, in part the definition of what 'governing' is - compromise?

Is this what we want from our leadership?  Is this what we want and expect of our democracy?

repub symbolThe utter arrogance of these governors as well as the members of the state legislature is absolutely disgusting (let alone that of those holding national office).  They have a right to hold a position and voice their opinion but it is clear that they don't believe in compromise and thus in governing - only in implementing their own idea of what they want in terms of policy and legislation.

  • Life Ain't Fair!

Life just isn't fair, it is an undeniable fact and just how unfair life might be at one particular place, in one particular time might be considered a determining factor of how civilized that time and place might be.  I believe this to be true and it would seem that we are turning back (once again) to a time where we are less civilized.  Things like tolerance, the hatred of so many and of so much, a reveling of ignorance – these are things that also seem to determine just how civilized a society is.

There is a growing rationalization of our collective dissonance surrounding the unfair treatment of others.  As long as it is not me or mine then, well I may not like it but that’s just the way things are.  Things “are” that way because we allow them to be and even the rationalization we allow ourselves to use to soothe our potential guilt is something we at some point will need to squarely face in order to affect change.

It is apparent that there is an ever widening gap between those that have and those that struggle to get by. What we do in regards to this dilemma (of course there are those that deny this is a dilemma) may determine whether we are leaning away from or towards a more civilized world.

  • Nightmares

They say you dream about the subconscious, that may be true and if so perhaps very telling. My dreams of late are much like the one I'm about to describe and that is certainly very telling.

Having now to deal with a persistent, chronic illness last night's dream starts in the office of a specialist physician. The physician begins telling us excitedly, about new research and how the latest technology is creating huge advancements in the area of our specific condition. This certainly piques our interest as we listen intently for more detailed information, which we quickly learn is dependent on one specific thing. That one very specific detail, our physician informs us is that we must maintain our premium payments otherwise for certain we will be excluded from the benefits of any advancements in the area of our disease management or cure.

  • Republican's Don't Support Main Street

It is that simple and true when it comes down to brass tacks, the Republican platform is to support big business profits and let the individual fend for themselves.  No matter how it is spun that is the bottom line.  It certainly doesn't take a genius to see it throughout recent political history, but there are legions that rationalize and through dissonance make themselves believe otherwise, to our collective detriment!

  • SPAM - What is it Good For?

So most of us, if not all are inundated with SPAM email every single day!  It is so anoying, intrusive, disruptive and a total waste of time for most!  Why, so many people ask?  Well, the reason seems to be that there are enough dopes out there that open and purchase products, services or get scammed that it makes it worthwhile to those that propogate SPAM!  To me it is kind of like choosing to shop at WalMart, by patronizing them you impliciltly and tasidly approve and validate their existence!  (I realize that in some situations people may not have a choice due to availability or economics)  But SPAM does not have to be opened, virtually ever!  By doing so you make it possible for the clowns that use SPAM as a marketing tool to do so by validating their approach.

  • Why is Abortion THE Issue?

Both Mitt Romney (even though you can't get a consistent straight answer over the period of a few months from him) and Paul Ryan want to legislate women's healthcare decisions about women's own bodies, including pregnancy, abortions and even contraception.  If you have religious convictions about any of these things why then can't you make those decisions for yourself?  Why can't you use or not use contraception based on your own beliefs or faith?  Why can't you do that for yourself and why does the Republican Party, including Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to tell you what to do regarding those issues?

  • WTF Are You Talking About?

The pundits, news media commentators, journalists, many Democrats and most Republicans cannot accept the 'fact' of the Occupy Wall Street protests.  They are unable to admit that this is truly a grass-roots movement and the fact that it is the people exercising their constitutional right to free speech.  It is a portrayal of the dismal propoganda and dissonace thinking that the media and politicians engage in to suit their own aims and those of the money changes that have bought and control them.

They say the Occupy Wall Street protests are this or that or are not this or lacking that.  Bull****!  We have one party that is goose-stepping its main agenda and that is win at any cost, even at the expense of the American public.  Both parties are bought and paid for and their corporate, special interest masters control them completely.

I say listen, listen to the majority not the wealthiest minority.  We do need an overhaul and it will most likely take time to change the corruption in government.  Let's hope it is not too long...
